Soul Pet Memorials

Our community standards

Every memorial here is public, and every one of them speaks for the person who wrote it and for us. These are the few things we hold to. They are short on purpose.

  1. Every page is about an animal who was loved

Soul Pet Memorials exists for one thing: remembering a pet. Everything on a memorial should serve that.

  2. Grief has no wrong shape

Anger, guilt, humour, bitterness at the loss itself - all of it belongs here. There is no correct way to miss someone.

  3. People may be named in gratitude, not in blame

Name the vet who sat with you at 2am, or the shelter that found her. Do not name anyone as the villain of the story.

  4. Nothing that threatens harm to anyone, including yourself

No threats of violence, revenge, or harm - to another person, to an animal, or to yourself.

  5. No slurs or hatred toward people

No slurs, and nothing demeaning a person or group for who they are.

  6. No sexual content

This is a memorial site. Sexual content has no place on it.

  7. No advertising or fundraising outside the charity directory

If you want visitors to give in your pet's memory, use the charity directory. Do not use a memorial to sell or to solicit money directly.

  8. If it is not a memorial, it does not belong here

Pages that are not about remembering a pet will be removed.

We read a memorial against these before it goes public. If something needs a second look we hold it briefly and a person reads it - we do not delete anyone’s writing, and nothing is lost while we look.
